Here is a list of my 10 favorite books from 2015!
01
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
Probably not a book that's going to change the world but who doesn't love hilarious pop culture references, a dystopian with a sense of humour, and a book about the video games in the future? 5/5 stars.
02
Mistborn: The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson
The most creative fantasy that I've read in a while this book explores a world in which the bad guy wins and gets be a ruler for a thousand years. 5/5 stars.
03
The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson
A feminist Young Adult fantasy series with a diverse cast of characters and an edge of your seat, never know what's going to happen next storyline? Sign me up. 5/5 stars.
04
Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng
The first contemporary on my list. The story of how the death of a family member effects the lives of a multi-racial family living in 1970s America. I haven't stopped thinking of this book since I read it and I think it's a story that will stay with you for a life time. 5/5 stars.
05
Gathering Darkness by Morgan Rhodes
The third book in the Falling Kingdoms series brought even more contemporary and adventure to the plate. 5/5 stars.
06
A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness
Probably the most compelling book about grief that I've ever read. The illustrations are magnificent and the story is breathtaking. 5/5 stars.
07
Vicious by V.E. Schwab
A compelling story about power and the consequences of it. This is a unique book about superheroes, and two friends who turn on eachother and become mortal enemies. 5/5
08
Written in Red by Anne Bishop
A compelling adult urban fantasy. One of the most unique books I've read this year. 5/5 stars.
09
The Martian by Andy Weir
Everybody knows about this book so I won't dwell to long on it. But it's an amazing hilarious science fiction about being stranded on Mars. 4.5/5
10
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
One of the most relatable books I've ever read. Cathe's personality was like looking into a mirror. Anyone who is part of a fandom, particularly the Harry Potter fandom, should pick this book up. 4.5/5
